Daisy, you always have very interesting pictures that have me searching my brain for an answer as to what exactly it is. I can tell you that to me it looks like sweet potatoes but I suspect its some kind of fruit being in Florida and all.
I think it's sweet potatoes... I had sweet potatoes for dinner tonight. Mine was just steamed in the microwave...and didn't have near the interesting coloration as these. either way...yummie!
Those have a good char on them---I love that. You baking them or was that a pan sear?

Those were baked at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Yumm!
