Tuesday Tidings

With the recent pleasant temperatures,
I haven't been spending much time inside.
Here are a few things happening around the garden.

Beautyberry leaves are lush,
but no luscious purple berries so far!

Kanchloe bouncing back after a severe pruning.

Cosmos are at six feet and counting!

This mystery plant popped up in a hanging basket.

The shade of blue is lovely.

Here's the seed pod.
More of these will be started.

Another mystery plant.

Pine straw mulch just waiting to be distributed
throughout the back bed.

Ah, that's better...

Peanuts got dug up this weekend.
This is the first time we tried growing them.

There were only a couple of handfuls.
Enough to make some homemade peanut butter.

This is how several of the shoots looked when
they were pulled out of the ground.
It's all a learning process.

Pineapple

Native cotton plant

Lemons are finally turning yellow!

Lettuce is just getting started.

The butterfly vine is being continued
along the west side of the house.

Looks like we'll be having some monarchs
gracing our yard soon.

Hope you get to spend some
quality time outside soon!

  1. It's neat seeing the completely different things you're able to grow in your warm climate. I think peanuts would be great-and homemade peanut butter? Wonderful!!
And I came home to a frozen, blackened mess and a whole-lotta cleanup to do. Hard to believe another growing season is done for us up here.
    Where did the year go?????

  2. Peanuts!? Wow, I'm impressed! I'm jealous of your beautyberry, too. Berries or no berries. I really need to get one of those. Great post. Coming over from An Oregon Cottage.

    1. Thanks for visiting! The beautyberry is just spectacular with the bright purple berries on it. I hope to feature it when they come in.
